Championing Innovation in Teaching: Meet CITL’s 2025–2026 Faculty Fellows

The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is pleased to introduce its new cohort of Faculty Fellows for the 2025–2026 academic year. Following a competitive selection process that drew applications from across colleges and disciplines, this year’s Fellows represent a diverse group of educators who are deeply committed to advancing student-centered, evidence-based teaching practices at the American University of Sharjah.

The CITL Faculty Fellows Program is designed to build a network of engaged faculty leaders who serve as catalysts for innovation in teaching and learning. Fellows act as liaisons between CITL and their respective schools and colleges, identifying needs, championing best practices, and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Throughout the academic year, the Faculty Fellows will support a wide range of CITL-led initiatives and events. Their responsibilities include:

  • Leading and organizing professional development sessions such as seminars, workshops, and classroom observations.
  • Mentoring PhD students and contributing to the Certificate in University Teaching (CUT) program.
  • Supporting the Certificate in Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) program.
  • Promoting active learning strategies and the meaningful integration of technology in teaching.
  • Participating in the planning and delivery of the annual Best Practices in Teaching and Learning Conference (BPTLC).
  • Dedicating time weekly to collaborative efforts with CITL and the wider faculty community.

These Faculty Fellows will begin their term in Fall 2025 and serve through the end of the academic year. CITL is excited to collaborate with this talented group and looks forward to the insights, energy, and innovation they will bring to the AUS learning community.
